PALS
PALS Training For Southeast Michigan’s Community
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is a specialized course to help you assist ill or injured children and infants. Because they often hide or compensate for symptoms that can quickly become life threatening, it’s extremely important to learn the initial signs of such conditions so you can take the appropriate action when needed.
Putting knowledge into practice
When you attend PALS training here at Downriver Health Education, you’ll get to interact with real pediatric patient cases, plus experience realistic simulations and animations. We’ll teach you to apply basic life support, follow PALS treatment algorithms, and practice resuscitation skills. In our classroom setting, you’ll also have the opportunity to practice team dynamics, so you can properly and effectively respond to pediatric emergency cases.
What the course covers
During your time with Downriver Health Education, our instructors will cover:
- How to use a systematic approach to treat an injured child
- How to recognize cardiac arrest in children
- Basic life support skills for children
- Resuscitation for team situations
- How to recognize and manage situations such as respiratory distress, shock, and arrhythmias
- Care for after cardiac arrest
How our PALS training courses are taught
